Groceries

So today I let myself sleep in really late so I can be rested when we leave super early on Saturday. I made some breakfast for lunch (I think I slightly under-cooked my eggs this time) and then went to find another park! I shouldn't say went "to find" because really I am just going to green areas on my map that look like they might be parks. Sure enough, I found one, but right on the corner before the park there was a bookstore, so I decided to stop in. The owner said Dobry den, and I said it back, ("dobry den" means "good day" and is the customary greeting in Czech). She then walked up to me and started speaking in Czech, so I said I was sorry because I spoke English and then she laughed and walked away. I didn't buy anything because it was all in Czech, but it was a nice bookstore (when I was leaving after the park I noticed they had a Magic poster up, so I may need to buy a pack of cards if they have them).
I sat at the park for a while and read some of my book (Closely Observed Trains) and watched people with their dogs. Most people don't keep their dogs on leashes, and all the dogs seem very well trained. People bring their dogs most everywhere, including the grocery store and most restaurants; very few places have signs that say no dogs allowed. (The park I went to was home to this interesting church: http://www.praguestory.com/2011/11/namesti-svatopluka-cecha-church-of.html, fun facts between the two pictures!)
After the park I took the tram to the Tesco Extra, which is like a Safeway or Fry's. The Tesco was 2 stories, the first floor was groceries, and although I didn't go to the second floor, it must have been home goods or something. I bought some snack-type stuff for the weekend since we wont have a kitchen in Cesky Krumlov, and it all cost me about $6. I said Dobry den to the lady at the checkout, she said it back and said something to me in Czech. I don't know if my accent is really good, but people seem to assume I live here. Hooray for not seeming American!
On my way back it started to rain a bit, which is lovely. It's still raining on and off, and it's not too cold so the weather is just perfect.
I may try to watch some Czech television, or read some more and just get to bed early. Cesky Krumlov should be lots of fun; we leave at 7 tomorrow morning.
